New York: Tercer Dia

I hope my Spanish is right... lol. :)

My internet hates me, really, it does. It keeps kicking me off and not letting me back on until it's passed my usual posting times, which tends to be anywhere from the morning to early afternoon for me. (It's 11AM now for those of you not in my time zone...)

So without any more delays, I give you the touristy side of New York. Oh, and Lake Eerie, too. This is going to be a very long, very picture-filled post, just fyi.

I don't know for sure what building this is, but it's next to what I think was City Hall, and it has a shiny golden statue on top. It was a nice building. (I have a thing for cool buildings...)

We think this was part of Chinatown. As soon as we stepped off the subway onto Canal Street for the second time, we were trying to find the shops we'd been to before but we went the wrong way and suddenly everything was covered in what I'm assuming were Chinese characters. It was cool.

Right there in the center, yea, there, that's the Brooklyn Bridge. That's about as close as we got to it...

Here's a view of it from the ferry we were on. And those are really big boats.

These are the only performers I took a picture of, and they were actually one of the best ones we got to hear. Yay for subway performances!

Times Square during the day.

The same side of Times Square at night. I much preferred it at night. Also, we stumbled upon Times Square by accident looking for a pizza place on Tuesday night.

The beautiful pizza we were in search of from John's Pizza, six slices (the smallest you could get) of wonderful. And yes, we did eat the entire thing.

Grand Central Station. It's kind of magnificent as a building, but absolutely crowded as all get out.

The Empire State Building, which by the way they charge you just to go up. Like, $20. Just look at the lobby:

That pretty much says it all.

M&M World. 3 floors of M&Ms and M&M paraphernalia. AKA Heaven on Earth.

Random awesome church in the middle of nowhere. There were a lot of these by the way, but I'll just post this one. :)

Us on the Staten Island ferry so we could get a look at Lady Liberty and Ellis Island.

Looking back at NY from the ferry.

Liberty and Ellis Islands.

Lady Liberty herself.

Ellis Island, very pretty by the way.

Last ferry picture, and one that we don't look half bad in. (In case you can't tell, lol, I'm on the left and Katie's on the right. And yes, she wears large sunglasses ALL THE TIME.)

And now a handful of Central Park pictures, because it was absolutely beautiful (and then you can all go... I guess.)

For those of you who have seen Enchanted, this is the bridge Edward (James Marsden) jumps off of whilst singing.

I lied, one last (group of) picture(s) of the most beautiful thing ever invented:
This tall concoction standing next to my rootbeer is The Stand's Toasted Marshmallow Shake. If you are ever in New York, you must seek it out and have one.

Because it is probably the best thing I have ever had. You see those two on top? They got blow torched. That's how serious this is. Also, it's made with gelato so it makes you look like this when you drink it:

It tastes like liquid toasted marshmallows people. And yes, we both made that face. Pure genius in a cup.

Alright, that's all I've got for ya. Hope you all got a little taste of NYC there. It was a wonderful trip, and I can't wait to call New York my home. Hopefully I'll be able to afford it. Anyway, that's that.

Next week I'll start posting reviews on Mondays and Thursdays, and I'll have a special surprise for you on Friday (hopefully), and no, it isn't a contest. I'm still too broke for that right now. But I am still taking prize recommendations if you've got 'em. People seem to want gift cards more than anything. But I can knit you a scarf if you want one! lol

Okay, I'm rambling now. Enjoy your weekend! :)

You saw a lot!
And I don't know the church, but it is modeled after Salisbury Cathedral in England. That I have seen in person.

I really want to get to NY one day. Sadly no one in my family wants to go! One of these days, I'll just pop over myself :)

Oh gosh, I love New York. It's about time I made my way back, too. Hopefully next year. And that root beer shake concoction looked amazing, by the way (except I'd probably prefer it with coke!). What a perfect way to cap a beautiful adventure. Thanks for sharing your photos!
