Format: Hardcover, 352 pgs

Description:
Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie's always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal.
Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.

If you're like me, a) you're a Kiersten White fan from her blog posts alone, and b) you've been waiting on her debut book since word got out about it. When Paranormalcy released, it managed to skip most of Arkansas; there wasn't a single copy within 90 miles of me the entire first week. Nonetheless, it was in my hands that Saturday.
Paranormalcy is one of those books you never want to end.The characters are wonderful and quirky and incredibly real. White's created a group of people that I genuinely care about and want to know, especially Evie and Lend . . . oh, Lend.
Relationships are everywhere in this book in many forms, and the connections between everyone are what makes Paranormalcy soar. How people act and react to the things others say and do is a major part of being a teen, and White shows that in the smallest ways. Her attention to detail is remarkable as well as her style and voice; she captured being a young adult perfectly. I loved everything about this book, and I was thoroughly disappointed when it was over.
I wanted more. More romance, more heartbreak. More Evie, more Lend. More Evie and Lend. And did I mention the plot? Amazing, and so much more than I thought it would be. Paranormalcy takes place in a world full of faeries and magic, where there are entire diners staffed by the paranormal, and that's not even a major plot point! Psychotic faeries, snarky vampires, and a girl who looks like liquid fire? Yes, please.
Paranormalcy is original, to say the least, and a must-read for all YA and paranormal fantasy fans.

Wow this review alone sold me, even if I hadn't been sold before! I think this is such a great and creative take on a paranormal novel and with 5 stars under it's belt from you (Whom I trust) you bet your butt I'll have a copy in my hands soon!
I'm Team Reth. He's so...complex. It's a great book, isn't it?
He is complex, and I think he's an incredible character. But I also don't think he's the right choice for Evie, just because of his personality.
It's amazing, and I'm probably going to be giving a copy away in my next contest, which will start Monday, I think, and will probably be international. :)
